Hi, I’m Cheryl and I am a certified Integrative Health Coach who specializes in helping people create amazing and happy lives through nutrition, exercise, mindset and healthy lifestyle habits.
You could say that I have a passion for happiness! I simply want people to be happy. It’s who I am and what “fires” me up. I have a deep desire to serve others and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s what I want to do every day. My desire is to motivate and support individuals who are willing and ready to improve their health and life by looking inwardly for understanding and then seeking resources outwardly.
I live in the Upstate area of South Carolina – perfectly located between the Carolina coastal areas and the Western NC Mountains. I enjoy the ocean, hiking, running, competing in obstacle events, and relaxing with close friends and family. I live with three “four-legged” kids – Franky, Bella Mae, and Elvis (R.I.P).
I often get asked, “How did you become a Health Coach?” Truthfully, by luck. I learned about the Duke University’s Integrative Medicine Program by chance during a chat one day with a friend, who is now a colleague. I had no idea such a program existed but as soon as I looked it up, I knew that becoming a Health Coach would be a natural fit for me and a pathway to fulfilling my passion to help others. So, after a 23-year career as a Human Resources leader, I left corporate America to pursue my true calling.
In 2015, I completed the Integrative Health Coach training program at Duke. The program was a rigorous process requiring coursework, supervision, exams and extensive coaching hours. At the same time, it emphasized a non-judgmental, compassionate and kind attitude towards oneself and the client: values that I hold close to my heart.
My desire is to help as many people as possible to envision their very best self, encourage them to believe in their ability to make sustainable change, and provide them the support they need to achieve their own impossible!
In addition, I hold an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) – the world’s largest nutrition school. The IIN program was also an intense and rigorous program with extensive studies, leading-edge approaches and a wealth of knowledge around over 100 dietary theories and holistic approaches to health and a well-being.
My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I help my clients to develop a deeper understanding of their own individual needs in terms of nutrition and movement but also other lifestyle areas such as mindset, relationships, spirituality, and career. Using this knowledge, we work together to build a health plan to achieve their optimal level of health and to make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
Today, I am continuing to pursue certifications in fitness and mind-body practices to ensure that I keep abreast of emerging science and techniques and so that I may offer a variety of services to my clients.
As you can see, I am committed to continuing to learn and evolve as both an individual and a health coach.
Hope to talk with you soon!
In health and happiness,
